TOKYO CAMPUS

Tokyo Campus is located in a traditional neighborhood of energetic and gigantic city Tokyo. It is about 5 minutes walk from subway Ryogoku station. It is only 10 minutes by train from Tokyo and 20 minutes from Shinjuku. It is about 5 minutes by train to world famous “electric town” Akihabara. It is close from Asakusa, Ryogoku Kokugikan which is sanctuary of Sumo and also Tokyo Edo Museum. NAGANO CAMPUS

The Nagano School, located in a suburban area of Nagano Prefecture, is surrounded by lush green mountains and beautiful rivers. Cherry blossoms in spring, fresh green leaves of summer, red and yellow leaves of autumn is impressive . You can also enjoy fresh vegetables and fruits such as apples and grapes. Also there are many fun things to do such as mountain climbing, skiing, going to hot springs which you can not enjoy in big city. Study in USA 2017 - TOEFL/IELTS Optional

Focus Education is a pioneer education consultancy that caters to the needs of students wishing to get higher education abroad. Since establishment in 2007, the company has been sending students to the United States of America. There are mainly two intakes – 1) Spring Semester (beginning January/February) and 2) Fall Semester (beginning August/September). Some colleges/universities accept students for Summer Session that takes place between May and August.

It is always prudent to apply early for admission at colleges/universities allowing enough time for I-20 Form processing, SEVIS I-901 fee payment, visa interview appointment, etc. Since the US Embassy, Nepal has made the visa application lodgment simpler by reducing a number of documents required effective from July 2016, the number of students applying for studying in the US has dramatically increased. The reason behind increase in the number of students is also higher rate of visa approval than ever before. This has led to difficulty in visa interview appointment. If your admission package arrives late, you risk not getting an appointment for the semester you have applied for. Consequently, you should wait for following semester. So, you are advised to process your case on time – you should receive your admission package at least 2 months before your course start date. 

Now, we are accepting application for admission for Spring 2017. In order to apply for direct admission, the following documents are suggested:

• Bank Balance Certificate (Original)
• 2 Letters of Recommendation from the college last attended
• Any letters related to extra-curricular activities for scholarship purpose

Choosing Universities 

The sheer volume and variety of universities in the US means that you can be pretty confident of finding a suitable institution in your preferred surroundings. And if you don’t get it right the first time, moving between universities in the US is not uncommon. 

Undergraduate degrees at US universities typically take four years to complete. The first part of the degree is usually spent studying a wide range of subjects – some required and some electives – after which students choose the subject or subjects on which they want to focus – known as “major(s)”.

You may also earn a “minor” qualification alongside your major by completing classes in an additional field. This is often used to supplement the major degree. For example, business majors often minor in economics, while liberal arts majors may minor in philosophy. Some students also choose minors simply to explore a field they’re interested in, without having to commit to a full study of the subject, and regardless of whether it pertains to the field in which they seek employment.

Studying at Community Colleges

Community colleges are a great option for students who may feel lost in a big U.S. university. The cost of a community college is usually about 40-50% less than a state university, the classes are generally smaller, and you receive help from advisors and staff. Most community colleges offer a direct pathway through transfer agreements so you can ensure you have options upon graduation. Most community colleges offer transfer fairs where students can meet with university representatives from all over the country. Community colleges give students a chance to explore majors and really find the university that is right for them.’   

Students can choose classes from a broad range of subjects, similar to those which they might study at high school. However, they can choose to specialize in a particular subject, which may influence what they wish to study at a later stage.

Students at community college can achieve an associate’s degree in two years. Then if they wish to, they can transfer to a university to get their bachelor’s degree after a further two years of study. This is known as the ‘2+2’ route (two years at college plus two years at university). The way this works is that the material a student covers in two years at community college prepares them to join an undergraduate degree halfway through. However, this will depend on what you want to study at university, and you will be required to take certain classes at community college so you can join at this later stage and keep up. Therefore, if you have a rough idea of what you may want to study at university later, consider this when you choose your classes at community college.

Scholarship/Financial Aid

Whilst some student visas will allow you to work up to 20 hours of part-time per week, your income will be nowhere near enough to cover your total living and tuition costs. But not to worry: there are plenty of funding options available to help you completely or partially finance your studies. There’s also a good chance you will not have to pay the full tuition fee amount. At many universities in the US, a majority of students receive financial aid, via various grants, scholarships, loan and work-study schemes. Your host should always be your first stop in searching for funding options: their scholarship programs have been created with their own study programs in mind, and will be better tailored to your specific needs when studying there. Your host will also have the best idea of what you’re likely to spend in living and accommodation costs, and so are more likely to award amounts that will best support your student life. Scholarships are typically awarded based on academic merit or financial needs, but in some cases may be tied to specific study areas or work in partnership with external institutions. Funding options in the US are virtually endless.

US University/College applications 

Entry requirements for each university/college are different, but most involve completing an admissions test or essay, the SAT or ACT admissions tests, and providing recommendation letters from teachers. On top of this, most universities/colleges ask for a transcript of your grades and a personal statement. Admission to graduate schools may require GMAT or GRE scores.

If you meet all the admission requirements of the university/college, you will get direct admission or you may apply for a conditional admission if you do not meet the English language proficiency requirement.

Admission Open for January/April 2017

When students go to Japan, they first complete Japanese language and college/university entrance preparatory course that spans somewhere between one and two years of time. In order to process your case to study in Japan, you first have to apply for the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) through one of the accredited Japanese language institutions based in Japan. This can be done with the help of the institutions’ local representatives in Nepal.The company represents 20+ Japanese language institutions that offer first-class Japanese language education as well as college/university entrance preparatory courses. Depending on when you start your class, the duration of the course varies.

Estimated Cost of Attendance

Rs. 1,000,000 to Rs. 1,500,000 (Generally includes 1 year tuition and fees, 3/6 months hostel fee, 3/6 months living expenses). This is just estimation and the cost varies depending on students and institutions as the spending habits of different students are different and the tuition and fees as well as hostel fees are different from institution to institution. The figure also depends on the exchange rate between the Japanese yen and Nepalese rupees at the time payment.
